Blog of Saskatoon Michigan

Our blog will keep you up to date on our progress, and growing news. We strive to provide you with the strongest, best possible plants to sustain your saskatoon needs.

Kaytlyn and I had a great time at the Northwest Small Conference show this past weekend. Our booth was buzzing as we  passed out a lot of Saskatoon based fruit filling samples, sold product, reacquainted with old friends and met some new ones. We answered a lot of questions as there seams to be much interest in growing saskatoons. Hope to see many of those that visited us for the U-Pick this July.

Growing magazine has recently published an article outlining the newest Northern crop, Juneberries, also known as saskatoon berries. As consumers become more and more aware of the super antioxidant potential, the desire for saskatoon berries will increase.

It is believed that “U-pick” and “Pick your own” establishments will be the first to explore the consumer desire for these winter tolerant berries. As a self-propagating  crop, saksatoons begin to pay for themselves after the first season.

SaskatoonMichigan.com was listed as one of six suppliers of saksatoons for the northeast.
